How can we talk about care?
How do we talk about a person who is present and absent at the same time?
Who cannot speak for themselves, but who is spoken about by representation?
A docufictional triptych.

With great thanks to Catalina González González and Hannah Meyer-Cosack.

Frappant Galerie: Fires, Flashes, Fluids (Duo with Elina Saalfeld)

Hands searching for support, grasping, sometimes more harshly, sometimes gently touching, form a cartography of gestures of tenderness. In the duo exhibition with Elina Saalfeld, they meet teenage poems hanging as cyanotypes on steel frames.
The projections on semi-transparent flowing surfaces in the room,  reflect the language and content of the poems: it is about the desire for togetherness in inner and outer isolation. During the pandemic, which has made touch and physicality a rare commodity, a textual and physical history of sensibilities is woven.

Stay at home. But which home?
What about the people who are homeless and not protected by the German legal system?
Many places are closed, the exclusion that was previously concealed by a few doors is openly visible on the street. If you look, if you listen.
Affected people and activists talk about their perspectives. An attempt to grasp what has been left out and what can and must be done.

With great thanks to Dilan, Suleyman, Mart and Bedpark Stellingen.

HORROR

Young Valley Soil
Video installation with live hotline, 72 hours
2019
Frappant Galerie: Shift - Beyond the binary, curated by POSSY

The stories read out over a telephone hotline are based on the structure of classic horror stories. However, they are to be understood as counter-narratives and modern myths in which the character read as a female steps out of the role of victim and becomes the self-determined protagonist of her story. Visitors can observe the performers via a live camera. A playing with power structures of observation and the telling of one's own story.
